WIUX cultuershock 2k12

Well, its been a year. I've kept the blog up less and less. School has been kicking my ass, and i've been living.

This weekend was the annual WIUX culture shock. Last year set the bar insanely high featuring massive acts like Ty Segall, The War on Drugs, Beach Fossils, and Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt. This year felt really lacking. I was let down by the show as a whole, but the time spent was amazing. The band that I really wanted to see were Triptides. They were amazing. They were everything I wanted out of a Surf-punk band. Busman's Holiday followed, and killed. They were a folk duo and cracked good jokes between songs. Saintseneca were good, but the people's temple were not great.

We skipped fang island.

Anyway, i got to experience Bloomington in a different way this year. My sister-in-law (though legally not the case, its just a simpler explanation), and a friend from bloomington were both going to the show. So, seeing them was a big treat. It more or less made the experience. I also was graced by the presence of a fantastic girl hailing from the city of Muncie for 9 months of the year. That made the whole thing worth while.

My phone died. I wrote a paper about Saintseneca. Then we crashed a dorm party. Girls were having fun. Memories were made. I bummed some pickles from the ladies.

My sister in law also let Girl and I to crash in her apartment. We ate pickles, then my sister in law came home. I got to have a very touching conversation about family matters. Then we all went to sleep. Woke up. Then had stromboli.

It was a great time, guys.

Can't wait for next year.

I changed my major.
