First and foremost I think that music blogs (even though I have one) are stupid. I know no one will ever read this and it change their mind about music. I know people will read this and probably use it against me to mock me.
Fuck it.
The new Japandroids record is completely stellar. Its unabashed energy and immersing hooks drive the music around lyrics that as pitchfork media said, could have been found in any senior yearbook. The confidence oozes out of this album. Its sad. Its really--really sad. You wouldn't know that without looking past the energy and reading into the lyrics.
I just simply can't say anything other than the fact that you have to experience this record. Play it as loud as humanly possible and just listen. Sit and listen.
