My Dream Girl Don't Exist...

...But if she did, she'd be a nice cute girl, that I could talk with, and just hang out and listen to the Velvet Underground live.

I mean, there is more than that, but we'd just hangout and listen to great tunes, and be bored together: happy.

I dunno, I'm just lonely I think. I'm not alone, just lonely.

I'm gonna be more social, and maybe find a ladyfriend who doesn't know that this blog exists and that I was at one time lonely.

I dunno.

Mid terms suck.

I'm About to Have a Nervous Breakdown

And my head really hurts.

I've been doing two things. Listening to hardcore, and not feeling well. I've been busy. I have a lot to do, and everything is slipping into the same crazy thing it always slips into.

I've not been posting about music lately, and I'm not really sorry, but I kind of am. I dunno, I'm just spreading the wealth of what I like. There will always be a wednesday mix, even if no one besides myself listens to it.

I've got two projects to go do.

Also, I'd just like to thank some great friends for inviting to take me to detroit with them, I'm sorry im a douche and i'm ultra busy. I really am. 2012. I'll be there guys!

Excuse me,

Swap meets

Nothing music related. I just wanted to write about growing up and pounding swap meets. Hanging out with folks with keen eyes for important bits helped me develop a sharp eye. I dunno, I just remember going to swap meets a lot, and wanted to talk about it.

Marion county car swaps and bike swaps. The open air and generally spring/fall swaps made for an interesting setting. I dunno, I really didn't like them but in hindsight they were the most fun. The State fairground super swaps were good, and I'll never forget going to them.

I know its a beaten and bloodied horse, but it kind of sucks that ebay killed swap meets. I mean, in a sense it has, deals are harder to come by, and people generally know what stuff is worth. I mean, I've got some sweet deals (A dixco bullet case tach for $10 bucks, that WORKED), but they're just hard coming.

Anyway. I like swap meets.

I want this.

All of it...But I'd settle for the book shelf

(stolen from A Minds Eye (Nick32Vic, Nick-the-Badass, My friend, Cappin' Beeza) He doesn't blog anymore, but he posted good stuff, if we can convince him to get back at it, he might have another go. Peer pressure! Peer Pressure! (fuck peer pressure, I'm light-years from being his peer, I gotta balls-up and get some fabrication skills.)

Have a good one, readers

Plugging my friends.

Chris: He likes motorbikes, and he is a good friend of mine. Also note, bad at making decisions. Great kid though.
Read his blog HERE

Nick: He is a cool dude, he silk-screens, and he has a neat shoebox. Good at blogging, read this if you wanna look at car show coverage and stuff like that. Look for a Green '54 ford on there. I dig it a lot!
HERE

Shoe: I don't need to say anything about Shoe. Coolest dude on the planet. HERE

Anyway, I'm done plugging blogs, my next post will be plugging music, so deal with that, and It would be my weekly mixtape post. So maybe two posts tomorrow.

I'm starting a magazine.

And taking all of the credit for it.

Im kidding, I need to ask a couple more people to get on board, but so far I've got my buddy Nick (nick32vic, Nick the Badass, and The coolest Gent I know), and Chris (fickle fascination, lame-o, and my best friend.) on board.

Should be good stuff, just gotta get it rolling.

Also, chris and I are planning a car show deal.

In time.

Forever,
Wesley (Reverb Splash; Echo Crash. Custom_Crestline)

Why I haven't posted...

I've been busy.

I went t the Indy world of wheels, without my car.

Like every car show, I have a bunch of hopes of taking a lot of pictures. Though, like every car thing I do, I don't take any. Why? Well, I'd rather talk with friends and not take pictures or look at cars, then care. And I did just that. Also, a lot of these are local cars, and there are better photographers around that will shoot a bunch of cars.

I got my car back on sunday! So excited to start thrashing on it again.
^that guy.

I'm really shooting for it to be "done" by Beatersville, but I'll still roll in it until then (after I get it put back together). I think the top is gonna end up in some sort of panel job? We'll see. I'm shooting to have a t-5 installed a few weeks before going to kentucky and giving it some time to break.

Driving that car home sunday, was one of the best things I've done in a while. I was so happy. I really love that stupid car. I really do.

Also, the weather in Indy is so awesome! I love it.

Oh its valentines day, and I'm alone. Like usual. Like I projected. Like I care?

I dunno, We'll see what I get done tonight. I wanna mess with my car and enjoy myself.

Have a great day-
Wesley.

P.s. In my next blog post, I'll talk about something interesting.

P.p.s. here my lastt mixxx4Vday

New Ravonettes!

Well, one of my favorite bands is releasing a new record in the coming months, and even though they are all over the blogosphere, why not one more?

Thats the new single from Raven in the Grave the newest release, and a continual shift from the noise-pop roots that they built themselves upon.

I'm not complaining. I dig it. A lot.

Buy it on April fifth, I know I will be

Snowhite Sneek-peek

Modern Day Hype Machine Vol.3

I'm not sure if I'm on schedule for this, and I'm sorry if I'm not, but the wait is worth it

THESE GUYS

are cool.

The Troublshooters is just such a sweet sounding record. Namely, "Don't fall into the Wrong Hands." It just has such a sweet sound to it. The whole record is just light, but still good and warm and heavy at the same time. The drumming really drives the record.

I've not listeneed to dirty gold yet, which is dumb, because ITS FREE. but I know I'll like it.

seriously, readers, check these guys out.

DID I MENTION FREE?

Someone drink hot cocoa with me please,
-Wesley

Valentine's Day

Its coming up soon, and I'd just like to write a note to all you lovers out there.

Share the time with the one that you're in love with, and Listen to my mix, and then listen to WERW all day monday, specifically starting at nine-o'clock.

Relationship advice from someone outside of a relationship:

Buy her something, make her something, or just generally be nice to her that day. You should do this every day,but this day more so. I'm gonna make get some ladies stuff, just because I can, and I'm a good dude.

Now ladies, suggestion, don't be a beezy. Generally speaking, your dude is trying to be nice to you today, and its just another day afterall.

Thats it.

What I'll be doing most of the day? Going to school, and then reading Perks of Being a Wallflower, and putting my car back together: alone. Like always! :D

There you go! enjoy!

Always with love,
-Wesley

Hype! I need somebody to Hype!

Not just anybody to Hype!

Anyway, this is a cool dude from a group on facebook. Its really harsh electric noise, if thats not your bag, then don't listen to it. If it is, enjoy, because its a back fit to be listened to.

Very good, I'd say, nice driving beat. I'll probably try and play this at a party (If I ever go to, or throw one.).

I dunno, also, its free. We like free things.

DOWNLOAD IT HERE AND BLAST IT

I'm not kidding you, I think this is really really good

The Most Important Record in my Life

And my favorite. Something that will never leave my heart, mind, or possession as long as I live.

From my farthest memory, there has always been one constant record. No matter how deep into Nirvana, and that 90's noise, I was in middle school, I'd still listen to it. Riding around on my bike listening to my cassette version on my walkman, that I got for Christmas when I was seven.

The Beach boys, now thats kind of obvious. And the record is really obvious if you know anything about me. It has my favorite '32 ford on the cover (Silver Sapphire) , so obviously now its Little Deuce Coupe.^^That guy.

I love that record. I'm not sure exactly what I love, be it the songs about cars, the lingo, or the harmonies, but its just perfect to my ears.

Hearing songs sung about car clubs, '32 fords, tuck and roll, chrome reverse wheels, white walled slicks. I dunno, I mean, I'm into cars, but I'm a lot more into music. This record just embodies both of those loves. I was indoctrinated with car lingo before I even really knew what a lot of it meant. Examples:

"A Stereophonic speaker set with vibrasonic sound"

"She rode a freight train west, all the way from detroit city"

"Chrome reverse rims with white wall slicks, and it turns a quarter mile in One-oh-Six. Door handles are off, but you know I'll never miss'em, they open when I want with a cellunoid[sic (spelling changed to make it flow)] system"

I mean, yeah, I was raised to know what tuck and roll meant, and to know what a lot of this meant, like a lot of peers.

This record wasn't forced down my throat either, neither was the hobby. I just loved it. I dunno.

To be honest, its a little fucked up, but I could go from dad blasting the beach boys on the tape deck in the garage, to throwing on The Velvet underground and Nico or Loaded right on after it. I dunno, thats why the velvets are almost as close to my heart as the beach boys.

I just wanted to put it out there that my favorite record is a piece of consumerist pop trash from 1963. Oh, its also written by a pop mastermind.

If you ever want to listen to this LP, just ask, I'll be more than happy to throw it on for you sometime, I have a reprint, but I'm searching for an OG pressing.

Then maybe we can listen to your favorite record, then best coast or wavves, ya'know, just to be ironic?

(as my Geography prof. says)

"Thats all I got"-
Wesley

P.s. I know he doesn't read it, but I guess I'd just like it to be public.

I love you, pops. I owe you more than you'll ever realize. More than the two grand I'm flip to you now anyway.

"You Icehole!"

So, in case anyone reads this from outside of the midwest, or outside of my own home, you might not be aware that we (the midwest) got hit with an ice storm.

Now, ice isn't like a snow storm. snow storms suck but are livable. Ice storms stop everything.

I've not gone to school in three days.

I've not left my house in three days.

Anyway, I just wanted to spread the word on that,

Also! The new Pains of Being Pure at Heart single is out, and its heavy. Its like MBV meets twee, its really good stuff. Pick it up!
